      墾丁國家公園及鄰近地區台灣梅花鹿追蹤調查研究
      摘 要
      自2003年2-12月,研究人員至墾丁國家公園及鄰近地區進行梅花鹿族群及生態調查。由方格痕跡法及自動照相機OI值對照法,估計野生族群數量介於108至567隻之間。無線電追蹤顯示九鵬地區梅花鹿活動範圍有逐月增加之趨勢,平均活動量為55.4%。侵入復育區的狗群對梅花鹿產生嚴重威脅,有14隻梅花鹿被狗咬死。梅花鹿危害農作物之情形並不嚴重。遊客及居民對梅花鹿復育工作多持正面態度,有84% 的受訪者贊成設置架高步道及觀景台以欣賞梅花鹿。由於目前野外梅花鹿族群量不高,擴展範圍亦有限,故建議未來宜積極進行復育工作,包含建立新族群,整修現有復育環境,監測放養個體之健康情形,加強個體野化訓練,建立國家公園和居民與遊客之聯繫網路。

      英文摘要:Abstract
      From Feb. to Dec. 2003, the population monitoring and ecological research of the Sika deer were conducted at Kenting National Park and vicinity area. From the grid survey and the relationship between density and Occurrence Index, the estimated population in the study area was between 108 and 567. From radio tracking of deer at Jiu Peng, we found the range increased gradually through months. The average time budget was 55.4% active. The dogs that intruded the restoration area were a big threat to Sika deer, we found 14 deer were killed by dogs. Few deer damages on farm vegetations were found. Most of the local people and park tourists supported the Sika deer restoration project. Most of them(84%) wanted to have lifted trail or platform constructed by the park to provide deer viewing opportunity. Due to the limited carrying capacity of the restoration site and slow dispersal rate of current population, it is suggested that:1. A new captive breeding population be established in other site. 2. More wild population be established within and outside of the park. 3. Current restoration site need to be managed properly to ensure the health and behavioral competence of the restored animals. 4. Local people be communicated to facility the progress of restoration project. 5. Park visitors be informed and educated to support the Sika deer restoration and conservation.
