一、研究緣起
本研究計畫案係針對後灣遊憩區(一)範圍進行陸蟹種類及繁殖族群數量調查，另針對後灣其它地區；與香蕉灣及砂島地區的陸蟹進行資源調查。
二、方法及過程
後灣遊憩區(一)的陸蟹研究採用了3種不同的陸蟹調查方法，包括白天採集調查、夜間採集調查法及繁殖季時於海岸林外巡邏調查降海釋幼陸蟹族群數量。後灣其它地區、香蕉灣及砂島地區的陸蟹調查則是設置樣區進行調查。
三、重要發現
2015年度在墾丁國家公園後灣遊憩區(一)範圍內共調查到陸蟹6科26種，包含2種本地區新紀錄種:圓形圓軸蟹(Cardisoma rotundum )與菲律賓針肢蟹(Bresedium philippinensis)。遊憩區(一)目前記錄的優勢陸蟹繁殖族群除了兇狠圓軸蟹 (Cardisoma carnifex) 數量減少外，其餘優勢陸蟹的族群數量均有顯著增加，而中型仿相手蟹 (Sesarmops intermedium) 、印痕仿相手蟹 (S. impressus) 、藍紫陸寄居蟹 (Coenobita violascens) 及短腕陸寄居蟹 (C. brevimanus) 四種陸蟹更成為國家公園範圍內該種的最大繁殖族群，使得後灣遊憩區(一)目前已成為國家公園範圍內最重要的陸蟹熱點地區。後灣其它地區的陸蟹調查總計發現陸蟹5科14種，結果顯示除了遊憩區(一)以外，後灣其它地區沒有陸蟹多樣性熱點存在。香蕉灣及砂島地區的陸蟹調查記錄到陸蟹5科17種，陸蟹多樣性熱點在香蕉灣及砂島兩個湧泉區周遭與26號省道靠海側的海岸林。
四、主要建議意見
1.防範中型仿相手蟹及陸寄居蟹的捕捉販售問題。
2.持續進行陸蟹監控及優勢陸蟹物種的生活史研究。
3.有效管理陸蟹熱點分布區域，確保陸蟹資源永續存在。
4.建議將後灣遊憩區(一)變更成為不可開發的陸蟹保護區。
5.制定後灣遊憩區(一)的陸蟹生態觀察管理辦法。
6.密切監控黃瘋蟻的入侵狀況，防範黃瘋蟻造成嚴重生態危害。
7.恢復後灣遊憩區(一)南邊溪流與海相通之狀態，使陸蟹幼苗能順利洄游登陸。

英文摘要：The purpose of this project was to study the biodiversity and population abundance of the land crab fauna both at Houwan and Siangchiaowan-Shadao areas of the Kenting National Park. A total of 26 species of land crabs representing 6 families were found at the Houwan Recreation Area during the survey in 2015. The populations of the dominant land crabs at the Recreation Area have significantly increased except for Cardisoma carnifex. The largest breeding populations of Sesarmops intermedium, S. impressus, Coenobita violascens and C. brevimanus in the Kenting National Park were all found within the Houwan Recreation Area, thereby making it the most important biodiversity hotspot for the land crab fauna throughout the Kenting National Park. A total of 14 species of land crabs were found in the other areas of Houwan but no other locality there can be proposed as land crab biodiversity hotspot. A total of 17 species of land crabs were found at the Siangchiaowan-Shadao areas, the two natural spring areas and the ocean side coastal forest along Highway No. 26, representing localities which can be declared as biodiversity hotspots for the land crab fauna.
